Reading the amplitude from a u,t diagram
The amplitude is the maximum displacement from the equilibrium position.
So read the equilibrium position and the maximum displacement from the diagram.
Take the absolute difference between those two values.
- Read the equilibrium position and maximum displacementGet the equilibrium position and the maximum displacement from the diagram.
- Take the absolute differenceWork out the intermediate step using the values from the problem.
In a u,t diagram, the equilibrium position is 0 cm and the maximum displacement is 3,5 cm. Calculate the amplitude.
- Read the equilibrium position and maximum displacementEquilibrium position = 0 cm. Maximum displacement = 3,5 cm.
- Take the absolute difference|3,5 - 0| = 3,5 cm.
