Eerste breuk verkennen

Multiplying fractions often means: taking a part of a part.

The numerator tells how many parts you take. The denominator tells into how many equal pieces the whole is divided.

Multiply numerator by numerator and denominator by denominator. Then check whether the result can be written more simply.

  1. Multiply numerator by numerator and denominator by denominator.
  2. Find the GCD of the numerator and denominator and divide both numbers by it.
Calculate 23 × 34.
  1. Multiply the numerators and denominators
    Numerators: 2 × 3 = 6. Denominators: 3 × 4 = 12.
