Calculate scaled length

Theory

How do you calculate a scaled length?

Scale 1 to n means that the drawing is n times smaller than reality.

When going from reality to a drawing, you calculate back.

Divide the actual length by the scale factor n to find the length on the drawing.

  1. For a scale of 1 : n, divide the actual length by n.
The scale is 1 to 50. In reality, something is 200 cm. How long is it on the drawing?
  1. Divide by the scale factor
    200 ÷ 50 = 4.
