How do you convert a fraction to a percentage?

A percentage is a part of 100.

You can first read a fraction as a division: numerator divided by denominator. Then you get a decimal number.

Multiply that decimal number by 100 and write the result as a percentage.

  1. Read the fraction bar as a division.
  2. Turn the decimal number into a percentage by multiplying by 100.
  3. Write as a percentage
    Put a percent sign after the calculated value.
Convert 14 to a percentage.
  1. Divide numerator by denominator
    1 ÷ 4 = 0,25.
  2. Multiply by one hundred
    0,25 × 100 = 25.
  3. Write as a percentage
    The answer is 25%.
