Reading the period from a u,t diagram
The period is the time for one complete oscillation.
In a u,t diagram, you can find it using two consecutive identical points, for example two peaks.
Subtract the first time from the second time.
- Read two consecutive timesTake two consecutive identical points from the u,t diagram.
- Calculate the time differenceWork out the intermediate step using the values from the problem.
In a u,t diagram, there is a peak at t = 0,2 s and the next peak at t = 0,7 s. Calculate the period.
- Read two consecutive timesFirst peak = 0,2 s. Next peak = 0,7 s.
- Calculate the time difference0,7 - 0,2 = 0,5 s.
