How do you name a fraction from parts?

In a fraction model, you compare a part with the whole figure.

The denominator is the number of equal parts into which the whole is divided.

The numerator is how many of those equal parts are shaded or chosen.

    Use the number of chosen parts as the numerator and the total number of equal parts as the denominator.
